Updating Blackfire

Installing and updating Blackfire should be a quick process. This document will guide you through the steps.

Check out the blackfire doctor command if you need help troubleshooting your installation.

For your information, here are the latest versions of each Blackfire component:

Update the Debian repository:

If you installed the PHP Probe via the package manager, head to the step-by-step guide to upgrade.

Restart the agent service:

Restart your web server or PHP-FPM and check that there are no errors in the logs. To debug problems, you can change the log level and the log file in the Probe configuration.

Component Lifecycle

All Blackfire components have a 180-day decommissioning policy.

Probes: Expire based on two factors: the upstream runtime lifecycle and the release of newer Probe versions.
You have 180 days to upgrade after a newer Probe is released, even if your runtime version is still supported.
Agent: Expires 180 days after a newer version is published
